The formulas
Business fee = payment × 2.6% + $0.15
Instant deposit fee = amount moved × instant rate (min $0.25)
Reaches your bank = payment − business fee − instant fee
Worked example
A customer pays your business $100, and you move it to your bank straight away.
| Business fee | 100 × 0.026 + 0.15 = $2.75 |
|---|---|
| In your balance | 100 − 2.75 = $97.25 |
| Instant deposit | 97.25 × 0.0175 = $1.70 |
| Reaches your bank | 97.25 − 1.70 = $95.55 |
The instant deposit nearly doubles the cost of taking the payment. If you can wait one to three days, a standard deposit is free and you keep $97.25.
Keeping Cash App fees down
Batch your cash-outs
The instant fee has a minimum, so moving lots of small amounts costs more than one larger transfer. Or skip instant deposits altogether when you do not need the money the same day.
Price the fee in
If most customers pay by Cash App, treat 2.6% + 15¢ as part of your costs and set prices with the markup calculator, which has room for payment fees.

Questions people ask
How much does Cash App charge a business?
Cash App for Business charges 2.6% + 15¢ on each payment you receive. Cash App's help center gives this rate from June 1, 2025. Some older help pages still mention 2.75%, so check the fee shown in your own app if a payment looks different.
How much is the Cash App instant deposit fee?
Between 0.5% and 1.75% of the amount you move, with a minimum of $0.25. The app shows the exact fee before you confirm. A standard deposit to your bank is free and takes one to three business days.
Can I take payments for my business on a personal Cash App account?
Cash App expects business payments to go to a Cash for Business account, which is the account type that pays the fee above. Personal accounts are meant for payments between friends and family. Using one for sales can get the account limited.
Is Cash App cheaper than PayPal or Square?
On a typical order it is in the same range. The fixed part of the fee is smaller than PayPal's, which helps on small payments. Use the PayPal, Square and Venmo calculators on this site with the same amount to compare.
